The Vineyard

Let me sing for my beloved my love song concerning his vineyard: My beloved had a vineyard on a very fertile hill.

Isaiah 5:1

In March 2014,  we planted a vineyard at the church as part of our faith formation program.  The vineyard, made possible by the late Rod Park of Rockpile Vineyard,  is a living parable for the church.

Those who planted.

Wisdom from the vineyard:

Every vine is individual and needs to be trimmed according to how the vinedresser thinks it will be made most fruitful.

Sometimes growth needs to be trimmed to focus energy into fewer areas of the vine.

The vine needs to be trained before it becomes too thick.  If the vine is too thick, it will break and not be shaped according to the vinedresser’s plan.

Nature is forgiving.  Even where mistakes are made, new growth brings new opportunities for correction.
